Faintly Macabre the Not So Wicked Which is an old lady who was seen in the dungeon in Dictionopolis. She is sometimes mistaken for being a witch.
Faintly the Which used to help people choose which words to use and which were the most appropriate; but she got "miserly" and kept some to herself. She then became more miserly due to greed and started hoarding more and more words, until only a few were left, and she was fired and banished to the dungeon. The Which explains to Milo, in the book, why Rhyme and Reason were banished to the Castle in the Air. She also is wiser than she was as a young lady.
